In order for catechists to grow in our own faith, it is crucial to read the Bible. It can be hard, however, to start and keep a good routine for reading Sacred Scripture. Today, I would like to share a virtual Bible study book club happening this summer with Allison Gringas at CatholicMom.com, I attended this Wednesday, and I loved hearing from Allison as well as the other ladies in attendance. It lasted about an hour, and there is still plenty of time to join! It has really helped me to get back to my daily scripture reading routine, so I wanted to share this great resource with you all.
Free Virtual Bible Study Book Club
Author, Allison Gingras, is running a lovely online Bible study book club that guides you through her new book, Jesus Heals: Finding Hope, Wholeness, and Peace.
So, is it a Bible study or a book club?? I think it’s actually both! The book has room for journaling, as well, that leads you through different meditations on different passages from Sacred Scripture. If you need some guidance for meditation and praying through scripture, then you will love this book. Many passages are centered around healing (which I think we all need healing on some level!), but the book contains many other lovely passages to meditate on as well. The book also has an Imprimatur.
When and where does the book club meet?
The book club meets on the following Wednesdays on Zoom at 9 pm EST. As a mama of littles, I was very grateful for the later start time! Come to any session as you are available. This is very laid back, and even if you missed the first couple, you can still join in. The book club will meet on:
- July 9
- July 16
- July 23
- July 30
- August 6
- August 13
- August 20
Who should join this Bible study?
Allison’s book encourages you to explore the places in your heart that need healing from Jesus. The book contains relatable anecdotes to inspire you along the way. This book also has many helpful explanations of different scripture passages as well as guidance for meditation and journaling.
If you want to start reading scripture, but don’t know where to start, then this book would be perfect for you.
If you struggle with maintaining a routine for reading scripture, this is a gentle nudge to get you going in the right direction to start the habit.
Lastly, if you would like to gently encourage a friend to read scripture (especially one in need of Jesus’ mercy and healing), then this book would be a great gift for her. Invite her to the book club with you, and journey through it together along with a beautiful group of Catholic women.
