The app is full of adult and children’s books from Sophia Press. It has a variety of ebooks, audiobooks, podcasts, and Sacred Music. My kids have literally been devouring books on this app. We have quiet reading time each night before bed, and everyone has been happily reading their picks. My kids love being able to access them instantly and having the option for audiobooks or ebooks. The audiobooks came in very handy when a couple of my kids were under the weather. Bible Stories for Little Children
This has simple and enjoyable stories from the New and Old Testament. Great to read aloud or for elementary kids to enjoy on their own. This is available as an ebook or audiobook.
The Book of Saints and Heroes
This is a very nice collection for older elementary and middle school kids. The stories are a bit detailed and longer than the storybook mentioned below, but very engaging and entertaining. This book also introduced us to quite a few new saints. This is available as an ebook or audiobook.
When Jesus Speaks
This is a beautiful picture book to teach children that what God says always happens! It gives simple example from Scripture such as when Jesus brought the little girl back to life and when He healed the blind man with His words. It culminates with Jesus’ words over the bread and wine at the Last Supper. The coolest part is the end with a number of saints carrying out Christ’s instructions to “Do this in memory of Me.”
We usually prefer picture books in person, but this story is simple enough and the pictures are vivid enough that it comes across nicely on a tablet. This book is available as an ebook.
Twenty Tails of Irish Saints
This is a really cool compilation of saints. Of course, it includes St. Patrick as well as 19 other Irish Saints! We loved this one. This is available as an ebook or audiobook.
Mother Cabrini: A Heart for the New World
This is a sweet storybook about Mother Cabrini – one of our favorite saints! It is delightfully illustrated, and tells the trials and joys of Mother Cabrini’s life. Available as an ebook.
A Storybook of Saints
This us a great collection of engaging saint stories with a charming illustration for each saint. The book is organized liturgically starting with Advent saints such as St. Nicholas and St. Lucy through November with saints such as St. Elizabeth of Hungary and St. Cecilia. Ages 4-8. Available as an ebook.
