What is this book about?

Amazing CateKID 1: This book is about the life of Joseph from the Old Testament. It talks about from when Joseph was Jacob’s favorite son to when he lived in Egypt. This book includes the main stories about Joseph.

Amazing CateKID 2: The Old Testament Joseph is the one who had the coat of many colors. This book talks about Joseph’s life, how his brothers sold him, how he became governor of all Egypt, and all of his life.

Our Thoughts on the Illustrations

I thought that the illustrations looked like true Egyptian art. This book even has Egyptian Hieroglyphics throughout some of the pages. I thought that was really cool. On one of the pages, there is a picture of these big pillars in the Egyptian palace. The pillars have Egyptian art on them and Hieroglyphics too! The illustrations are so fun to look at no matter what age you are.

I love the illustrations because they sort of look like Egyptian art. Egyptian art is the art the Egyptians used. On some of the pages the illustrator of this book used a technique sort of like Egyptian art. Some Egyptian art has people on the wall. That is what the illustrator did. People on the wall is just a type of Egyptian art. 

Our Favorite Part of this Book

My favorite part of this book is the Hieroglyphics. I think that it was such a good idea that the illustrator had to add in some Hieroglyphics. Joseph was sold to Egyptians, and Hieroglyphics were their letters. At the beginning and end of this book there is the name “Joseph” written in Hieroglyphics.

My favorite part of this book was also the hieroglyphics at the beginning and the end of the book. Hieroglyphics are letters that the Egyptians used to communicate by words like we do. The letters they used are symbols not letters that we use to write down our words. 

Who is this book for?

If you need a simple and fun book about the Old Testament Joseph for a child, this is the perfect book for you! Children about four and older will really like this book. (I think that parents will like it too.)

This book is good for not beginner readers but readers who are a little more advanced readers. It is also a good book that you can read to your kids as a simple story. This book is recommended for ages 4 and up. It is a very fun book to read and the illustrations are amazing.
