About Helen Secreti
For many years I enjoyed being an elementary school teacher in Catholic schools in both the Brooklyn/Queens and Rockville Centre Dioceses of New York. At the end of my teaching tenure I was blessed to be an Administrator of Faith Formation. At the MA program at Adelphi University in Garden City, NY I obtained a Masters in Elementary Education and am a certified teacher in grades N-6 with New York State. Through an enriching course of study at St. John's Seminary of Yonkers, NY (Huntington Campus) I received an MA in Theology in 2018. At retreat, parish, and school settings I have been a presenter on different topics of our faith. Some topics I have addressed have been: Hope in difficult times, practical ideas for catechists and catechesis in the home and school, studying of the Mysteries of the Rosary through Scripture, imagery and reflection, and caring for the elderly/sick in our families. As a retired person I continue to offer presentations, volunteer on the parish level and as a member of the Friends of the Seminary Organization at the Retreat and Conference Center of the Immaculate Conception in Huntington NY. I also like to stay current in the field of teaching as a substitute teacher. My husband and I are empty nesters and live in New York.
