Greetings in Christ! A blessed Respect Life Month to you all!
The 40 Days for Life Campaign is in full swing around the country and making great strides for the holy cause of Life. Please pray for this effort, which is exploding in terms of sheer numbers of cities and amazing results. Clinics are closing down, babies are being saved, God is being lovingly and peacefully served. Thanks be to God. You can follow their remarkable story, day-by-day, or sign up for a 40-Days effort near you, here . This would be a great and holy activity for Confirmation students looking for service hours.
There’s a truly magnificent organization I’d like to share with you, via a column at Patheos.com by Christopher Close-up’s wonderful host, Tony Rossi. Here he interviews Andrea Roberts, who started an organization called Reece’s Rainbow , which helps families logistically and financially when they adopt foreign children with Down’s Syndrome and other disabilities. It’s a beautiful work of God through the willing heart of a loving mom.
I’ve got a couple of new book reviews for you, too! I hope they’ll really spark your interest, because each of these new resources is genuinely inspirational and nourishing for your soul.
The lovely and beloved Lisa Hendey, creator of CatholicMom.com, has a wonderful new book, A Book of Saints for Catholic Moms: 52 Companions for Your Heart, Mind, Body and Soul. It’s a superb and engaging resource for families, but absolutely adaptable for use in the classroom. This book will be available from Ave Maria Press October 24th, but can be pre-ordered right away.
And Ellen Gable Hrkach gives a big thumbs up to Generous Faith: Stories to Inspire Abundant Living, which she calls, “…a beautifully written book and a delightful read filled with poignant stories and reflections.”
