Busy, Busy

By Lisa Mladinich

Hey, everybody. I am WAY behind the eight ball because of several speaking engagements and my book launch, so please excuse this entirely thrown together column. First, we’ve got a crop of great new columns for you to read, this month. Alex Basile, Ellen Hrkach, Christian LeBlanc and Maria Rivera have all knocked it out of the park, as usual. Spanish translations by Maria Rivera are available for all four. I can’t express how much I appreciate all of our columnists, who are every bit as busy as I am; working for love, working for the Kingdom, sharing for the joy of it, and giving their best always.

We had a great Catholic Writers of Long Island conference. Rather than try to retell this incredibly grace-filled event, I’ll share some fun follow-up links for you. One is a video link from,”Currents,” a Brooklyn-diocese TV show that was with us for the day, another is a print article from The Long Island Catholic, several are blog posts from great, great people who attended and continue to support us going forward. First up, The Anchoress from First Things, Elizabeth Scalia; then super-cool bioethicist, Dr. Gerard Nadal; award-winning pro-life blogger, Leticia Velasquez; “Among Women” podcast host, Pat Gohn; and our event homilist [and AC Chaplain], Msgr. Charles Fink. We are so deliriously happy that they have joined our apostolate of supporting Catholic writers on the local level, and in turn, the New Evangelization efforts of our beloved Church.

Some of our columnists are taking a break for the summer, but will be back in September, so please enjoy those who are hanging in for the dog days, and say a prayer for us. We are holding you all sincerely in prayer and we thank God for you.

A blessed and peaceful and holy summer vacation to you all!

And, hey! Visit our forums and tell us about your VBS programs, okay? What programs are you using? How are you implementing them? Are you getting creative and adding elements of your own? Amazing Minds want to know. ;]

Sincerely in the love of Christ,

Lisa Mladinich
