Dorian Speed is a former classroom religion teacher who now volunteers as a parish catechist. A writer and web developer, she bravely attempts to homeschool her children and hopes she’s succeeding. She writes about faith, culture, and catechesis at Scrutinies, and is the web editor for the Catholic literary magazine Dappled Things.
Her experiences working with students in a wide variety of settings – catechetical and otherwise – have led her to share ideas with those who may be new to the challenges of religious education. She seeks to combine humor, diverse strategies for lesson planning, and a healthy dollop of the Holy Spirit in her work as a catechist.
She’s available for speaking engagements in the Houston and San Antonio areas.
